Happy Taurus New Moon sweet souls! Emerging out of the cave of winter, feeling the warmth of sunshine radiating on your skin as we arrive in the present moment. This time of year is about renewal & reemergence, feeling the vibration of growth & abundance around you. Think of a seed planted in the earth. With sunshine, water & patience, this life form undergoes activation & transformation to push through the darkness of the dirt, root itself into the earth & rise following the beacon of the sun. During the darkness of the new moon, we can plant our seeds of intention & watch what comes to fruition over the next moon cycle!

I have been undergoing a personal evolution as the seasons shift from spring to summer. Focusing on raising my frequency & vibration to in turn raise the collective consciousness. I am making an intentional effort to release feelings of self-doubt, scarcity & lack-mindset I was feeling so strongly through the winter & truthfully throughout my entire journey of life. I am continuing to release these limitations & authentically step into the future I desire. I welcome you to do the same.
There is no doubt these are challenging times in the evolution of our society. I am not downplaying the magnitude & reality of the atrocities that we are faced with. Often feeling powerless or trapped by the consumerist, profit-driven culture. The injustices & inequalities of marginalized communities deepen through separation & divide. The destruction of our Mother earth intensifies through pillaging & greed.
However, I feel if we continue to perpetuate these disheartening realities by fixating on them & thinking nothing can be done, we will only strengthen the hold they have over us as individuals & as a greater whole.
For the next month, I am setting the intention to raise my vibration. To elevate my frequency by truly believing in my self-worth & unconditional self-love. I am committing to a practice of devotion & gratitude. I would like to share with you some habits that I have found helpful to elevate my consciousness, limit distractions from our overstimulating world, calm my nervous system & help to bring life’s limitless possibilities to fruition.

meditation
Take 5-10 minutes per day to sit in silence. Start by finding a comfortable position with minimal distractions from pets, family members, screens, etc. Take a moment to acknowledge sensations around you, noises from the outside world, the feeling of your clothes on your body or any smells you can detect. Now release them & tune inwards. There truly is no “right” or “wrong” way to meditate & this process will look different for every individual. Don’t pressure yourself to silence your mind, rather just honor & recognize your thoughts & allow them to pass. You may be surprised what insight arises from a few moments of stillness & reflection. Keep a journal close by to jot down any insights & messages received.
phone free zone
What is typically the last thing you do before bed & the first thing you do in the morning? I know for me, as hard as I may try, it is to scroll on my phone! This I think will be the most challenging habit to stick to for 30 days but potentially the most life changing. Backed by extensive scientific evidence, it is known that blue light emitted by our phone suppresses our melatonin production. This hormone regulates our natural sleep-wake cycle or circadian rhythm. Making it harder to fall asleep, stay asleep & achieve the most beneficial phase of sleep, the REM cycle. Our phones, especially when using bluetooth headphones, emit a level of frequency or radiation that can disrupt our nervous system & sleep cycle as well.
Due to my partner being a loud snorer & me being a light sleeper, I typically listen to sleep frequencies or affirmation videos to mask these noises. But this turns into scrolling the news before bed or checking my email right when I wake up. There is no disconnect in our modern world, we are constantly bombarded with information, our consciousness is infiltrated with an overabundance of media. This can fire up our nervous system when we should be winding down to rest or starting our day with ease. I have been trying this phone free practice occasionally by leaving my phone in another room to charge overnight & waking up alarm free with the sun. While I haven't been able to make this practice stick yet I have found (even with a snoring partner) a more restful, deeper sleep & a more positive mindset upon waking.
intention setting + gratitude
This practice pairs nicely with a phone-free bedroom. When you first awake in the morning, take a few moments before rising or as your feet hit the floor to acknowledge all of the blessings in life you are currently grateful for. By shifting your “attitude to gratitude” you are elevating your frequency & vibration to continue to bring in more & more to be grateful for. What you put out into the universe, is what will come back to you. Thank your body for rising another day, thank your mind for your ability to be conscious, your breath for giving you life. For food in your belly & a roof over your head. Simple, yet powerful acknowledgements of things we often take for granted that others may not have.
Additionally, you can take a moment to set an intention for the day. Anything! What do you want to call in? What do you want to focus on? By framing everyday stressors in a more positive context, such as “I intend to approach my workday from a place of peace and integrity”, you may find radical shifts occur within & around you.

connect with nature
In our modern world, we lose connection to the mysticism & healing of nature. Take a moment to unplug & get some fresh air. This could be as simple as practicing your 5 minute meditation outside or walking your dog in the park. Again, limit distractions and tune into the magic that is around us every day! Studies have shown that time outside in nature reduces stress, improves mood & boosts brain function. When we can't control what’s happening in our chaotic society, we can return to the earth that always supports us.
I hope you find these practices to be beneficial & supportive on your journey through Taurus season & the month of May.
until next moon,
