This moon event (the pisces full moon + lunar eclipse) has felt like a pivotal shift. I’ve had this building anticipation as to what this moon will usher in, this feeling of hope that change will occur. Personally, I’ve been in a period of uncertainty since the last full moon. Being a Piscean sun myself, I can be very mutable, go with the flow & at ease in the unknown. However, at some point, a sense of stability, grounding & routine can be comforting after a long period of feeling uprooted.
Despite this anticipation that a major life shift would occur, it actually was quite the opposite. Rather, I found myself filled to the brim with emotion, with my life remaining in a moment of pause. Inundated with feelings that needed to be processed & released. How can we usher in the new when we haven't made space for it emotionally in our lives?
The full moon, paired with the lunar eclipse, supports us to acknowledge unresolved emotions, old karma, patterns or regrets. To hold space for them & then let them go. It can certainly feel very heavy around this time, especially the days surrounding the full moon & eclipse. But as the mutable energy of Pisces flows like the ocean tides, this too will pass. With the lunar eclipse, a temporary shadow is cast on the moon, yet soon enough the light returns & we emerge from the darkness.

Take this time to recognize any uncomfortable emotions, in the present or past. You could potentially have themes or feelings coming up from the last eclipse season which occurred 6 months ago in Pisces season (Feb-March). Fully give yourself permission to rest in this discomfort, don’t try to ignore it or change it. Just be. If there is one thing a Piscean knows, it’s how to be "in our feels”.
In order to really filter through these emotions, to initiate the journey of healing & reach a resolution, I wanted to offer a few Piscean practices that I used during this moon cycle. We will still be in eclipse season until the end of September when we have the Virgo new moon & a partial solar eclipse on the 21st. I encourage you to continue to come back to these throughout the month if you find them to be beneficial.
There is truth to the saying that laughter is the best medicine. When life feels heavy, put your to-do list on hold for 5 minutes & seek out joy & laughter. Ask yourself, what would make my inner child happy? Where can I take time to find light in my day? When was the last time you truly laughed from deep within your belly, tears streaming down your face? This could mean a comforting show, a favorite movie, a chat with a good friend that always makes you laugh.
For me, it was a water park! I have never been to a water park in all of my years, yet water is where I feel the most at home, where my inner child is happiest. I’m currently staying in a hotel (part of the feeling of being uprooted), which has an indoor water park with slides & pools & tubes, the whole deal. My partner & I had a day off & we said, let's do it!

I did not know I would instantly turn into a little kid. Screaming & laughing my way down the big slides, going again & again & again. It might have been me & a handful of 6-8 year old kids but at that moment, I put everything aside & gave myself permission to laugh & play. I did not know just how much joy our water park date would bring. Making the most of the situation we are in & not taking ourselves so seriously! See how you can incorporate this energy into your life. Life is short, moments of joy are fleeting. So play & have fun.
The next Piscean way I find helpful to process my emotions is through music. At times throughout my healing journey, when I was in poor health & didn’t have the energy to walk or be social, I found comfort in driving around listening to music. In the safety of my car, I could turn the music up loud, scream, cry, laugh & sing along. Now I return to the playlists I’ve made through the years & they instantly bring me back to the emotion of that time. Our association with music & memory is so strong. Use this divine connection to facilitate your healing.

I’ve created a playlist for this full moon that is full of songs that bring me joy, pain, or evoke other emotions, plus a few songs I feel are very Piscean in nature. There is a joke in pop culture astrology that a Pisces always has an AUX cord in their car & their phone is always on 5%, I know this to be true. If you feel called, sample this ultra Pisces mix or build one of your own to help you feel some feels!
Finally, a great way to process emotions is through writing. It doesn't have to be any fancy routine, or a daily practice (all the more power to you if so!). Simply find a piece of paper, your preferred writing tool & let it flow. See what comes out for you. By practicing a stream of consciousness writing you might be surprised what wants to be released. Putting our emotions on paper makes more room in our mind & hearts to welcome in the new.
You can rip your paper up later, never look at it again, or use it in the future to reflect & see how far you’ve come. I even pulled out my journal this full moon to look back at what I had written around my birthday that fell during the last eclipse season. This 6 month reflection allowed me to see my forward progress even when I feel stagnant in the current moment.
I hope you take this time to find that raw, watery, emotive side of yourself. To respect your feelings through rest & release. Take time to dance & flow in sacred movement, to cry without apologizing, to write without restraint or censorship & to laugh from deep within your inner child.
Until next moon,
